Close Enough To Be Called Finished!

It's been a long journey, longer than I care to remember, but I'm calling our 2016 kitchen remodel complete.  The end justifies the means right?  In this case, we're quite proud of the finished product and feel the effort we put into it was indeed justified.  Carol says that we are the only ones that can appreciate the end result.  She's probably correct but boy do I plan to appreciate it for a long time to come, in use and in photos.  Here's a few photos of the finished product:

Now for a glass of wine and a home cooked meal!

In the Home Stretch!

With Christmas behind us, I felt today was a good day to begin prepping the last 10 cabinet doors for paint.  After about 7 hours of work, we're ready to start spraying the final paint.  The weather forecast for tomorrow is 80% rain chance.  I'll decide in the morning if final paint is a go.  Pictures anyone?

All the doors are prepped and primed, right?  Now where do these doors go you ask?

To be continued, God willing.

Good bye Facebook

December 27, 2016

Many years ago, I joined Facebook mainly to stay in contact with family and find old friends.  My experiment comes to an end today after months of consideration.  No matter what good I saw with this social media experiment, the good was far outweighed by the "EVIL" I'm seeing daily.  I found it wearing on my Christian views and affecting my outlook on life in general.

Today, I said enough is enough.  I deactivated my FB account and start a new path.  I will maintain messenger so I can continue to get private messages from family and friends who do not have my email address. I read that the best way to leave Facebook is to go cold turkey.  I've resisted posting on Facebook for the past few weeks and only checked it one time per day.  I was surprised how easy it has been to move on.

I close with this bible passage:

“But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death. Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭141:8-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Thanks be to God!
